Benefits of Music Education
 in Childhood Growth
 and Development:

MUSIC education is an important KEY TO SUCCESSFUL CHILD development

Music education and musical experiences help children build holistic learning skills. Music teaches us to use mind, body, emotions and spirit together to integrate new skills and information.

EARLY CHILDHOOD ACTIVITIES SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE CHILDREN'S MUSIC POTENTIAL

Research shows that the earlier children start engaging in musical or "sound" activities, the greater their potential for musical development.

We all respond to sounds and beats in the environment around us from the time we first hear our mother's heartbeat. The music is within us all, but the older we get, the harder it is to claim it. That is why we start our kids out in music lessons when they begin school, so that they will be able to play piano, or be in the band or orchestra or sing in the choir when they grow up.

We drop them off at piano or violin or clarinet lessons and then try to get them to practice at home, but we don't know how to actually help them learn their music lesson assignment for the week. So we just send them in to practice by themselves. And they get bored and that's when they want to quit
.

But music education should be shared  and be fun and involve our whole selves. If we engage WITH our children in music, we encourage their joy and love of learning and we motivate them to want to continue.

CHILDREN DEVELOP STRONG LEARNING SKILLS

Research also shows that children who study music: develop a strong sense of self-confidence and build good learning skills for:

1.         Learning math

2.        Recognizing patterns

3.        Working with symbols

4.        Taking tests

5.        Reading and language comprehension

6.        Developing fine motor coordination skills

7.        Learning concentration and good study habits

8.        Approaching a learning challenge with diligence and perseverance

9.        Expressing themselves with creativity and imagination

10.     Solving problems

11.      Working with others to achieve a shared goal

12.     Recognizing and appreciating beauty and    harmony in nature, art and character

You can be the key to your child's success in music lessons!

That's right. Even if you have never had a music lesson yourself, YOU have the power to be the most important influence in your child's music motivation and success in music and in all aspects of early childhood education.

Learning with your children is a non-threatening way to learn a new skill. Furthermore, your kids will love your efforts and see them as successes because you are in it together.

How can you make musical opportunities available to your child and ensure that your child will be open and learn from them, even if you do not have formal musical training yourself? Believe it or not, you do not have to have specialized training or a great talent to motivate your child to want to learn music.

You only need to make opportunities available, participate with your child and enjoy them for yourself -- using kid songs and kid games that were a familiar part of your own childhood development.

Children love games, love attention, and love doing fun things with their parents. Build music into your child's life from the very beginning and then keep the magic alive between your child's weekly music lessons in just 20 minutes a day with activities as easy as SINGING AND CLAPPING.

CHILDREN WHO STUDY MUSIC BECOME EFFECTIVE LEARNERS AND ACHIEVERS IN SCHOOL AND BEYOND.

By participating in music games together, you will encourage your child's natural musical instincts, keep them motivated to study music, build their skills, confidence and self-esteem with fun activities, and help rediscover your own natural instincts for musical response.

Everything's more FUN when you do it TOGETHER!
